INTRODUCTION
Sustainable Fashion Gift Card is founded by Nanette Hogervorst. With the Sustainable Fashion Gift Card she contributes to make the fashion industry more sustainable. Creating a community of fashion pioneers.
THE PROBLEM
As more and more fashion pioneers join the Sustainable Fashion Gift Card the need to filter pioneers grows.
Though there are already multiple WordPress plugins that provide filterable portfolio functionality, none of them provide advanced filter functionality like you find in product filters in webshops. Most of them only provide button style filters where you can filter on category. Like used in the standard WordPress posts. In this case we also wanted to create custom category types. E.g cities, brands etc.
THE SOLUTION
It was decided to create a custom plugin with a filter like you see in most large webshops to filter products.
Custom category types (called taxonomies in WordPress) were added to be able to also filter on for example cities and brands. Next to that the option was added to add a price range to a pioneer.
The plugin comes with a filter form that has collapsable categories to keep it clear and a slider to filter on price range. Also the form is optimized to look good on mobile as well as on desktop.
AJAX requests are used to get the filtered results without having to reload the entire page. Also the results show up smoothly when you scroll the page to get a nice user experience. Check out Nanette’s website to see the plugin in action. And while you’re there…why not buy a Sustainable Fashion Gift Card and make the world a little bit better
